DESCHAINE SEND THE BALL OVER THE MOUNTAINS, NOT ENOUGH TO BEAT THE ROCKIES

Dodgers' 3B Brock Deschaine does what he always does: crushes home runs. This time, he had them to use and men were on base. Coming off of a hot end to his 2017 season, Deschaine slugged his first two home runs of the season to go along with 6 RBIs and a 4-4 evening. However, his power showcase was not enough to overcome a strong team offense of the Rockies in a 19-10 loss during both team's first game of the season.

The Rockies came out swinging, led by Shane "Im coming for the derby title again" Ciriello (3-4, HR (1), 2 RBI (2), 3 R), and Dustin "Noone on and a homer in the bank, sending it" Child (3-4, HR (1), 4 RBI (4), 3R). The game was neck and neck until the second inning, and thats about it. In the second, Matt Nadeau absolutely crushed a single to the fence, which his teammates deemed gone with their "OOOOOOHHH SEEEEE YAAA!!!!" prior to it two-hopping the fence just over the reach of speedster OF Kris Levaseur. Also providing offensive power was Drew "Yeah I just got engaged, whats it to you?!?!" Lupardo (2-4, HR (1), 3 RBI (3)) and 3B Chris Lachance, who went 3-4 in the outing. Jody "Does anyone know where my daddy is?" Bolduc went the distance with a solid performance on the mound, surrendering only 14 hits and 10 runs for his first win.

For the Dodgers, things came together in the later innings when they put up 7 runs in the last two innings, thanks in part to Brock's lumberjacking 3-run bomb and Troy Frey's 2-run double in the 6th. Pitcher Brian Harvey tossed a complete game for the Dodgers, closing the kitchen and comanded the strike zone well, but took the loss on the mound.

Next week, the Dodgers (0-1) go on the road next thursday to face the Brewers (1-0) at 8:15 pm, while the Rockies (1-0) will host the Pirates (1-0) at 6:15 pm on Thursday.
