KC HANDS MARINERS A ROYAL BEATDOWN, TAKE NIGHT GAME 28-15

Auburn- One week after the Royals were handed their first lost via forfeit, after the Orioles protested due to 50+ year old Brian Rawson not playing the field due to injury, they came out with revenge as they combined 35 hits to take down the powerhouse Mac's Seafood Mariners 28-15. After 1B Matt Bowen singled in Justin "Yeah, I'm on my 8th beer and im driving my mower home after the game" Dodge in the first, the Mariners answered with a leadoff solo shot by SS Cody "It must have been the bat" Marean and a 3-run 4-base-award by Zack Timmermeyer in the botton half of the first. Royals left fielder Justin Cocroft was tracked covering over 387 feet in 2.4 seconds with a max speed of 87 mph as he leaped over the fence to attempt to rob Timmermeyer of a line drive home run, however, the ball slipped out of his glove and Timmermeyer was awarded the four bases. "Now I know how NFL players feel when playing in Denver, I dont think Ive ever been out of breath like that since I was on my last bite of my DQ Blizzard last night" stated Timmermeyer after jogging the base path. The Royals answered right back, collecting 8 hits in the top of the second and plating 7 runs to take the lead 8-4. That inning was sparked by an opposite field RBI triple by Desean Goyette (4-4, 3B, BB, RBI, 2 R), and an RBI single by pitcher Mike "Clint Eastwood" Mills (4-5, 2 RBI, 2 R), which sent him to third after 9the Mariners threw the ball around.

The Mariners brought things back to even in the 3rd when Timmermeyer (1-4, HR (2), 3 RBI (7), 2 R) launched a 3-run shot into the night  over the left-center field fence to make the score 8-7. In the 4th, the Royals took their commaning lead when Justin Greenleaf, Eddie Kutinejkeoidsjoeflds5toski, and Eric Picard (5-6, 3 2B, HR (2), 4 RBI (9), 5 R) each had an RBI single in the 5-run 4th. In the botton half of the inning, Kurt "No More F1s This Year" Varney launched a solo shot over the house in center, an estimated 612 feet. "I got my membership at Planet Fitness this year, so I've been hitting the elliptical and drinking Truly selzter beverages instead, now im hitting bombs for days. Chicks dig the long balls" said Varney. The Royals however, took full control of the game by putting up another 7 runs in the 5th, led by homers by Picard and Kutnfdjwefjogoerlsfdlr9r93fiski. Also providing offense for the Royal were 1B Matt Bowen (5-5, 5 1B, 5 RBI) and Greg Pontoo (2-5, HR (1)).

The Royals (1-1) will take on the Astros (0-2) next Monday at 7:15, while the Mariners (1-1) will look to hand the Orioles (2-0) their first loss.
